My Favourite Highlights

My Favourite Highlights
We all love a bit of highlight, it is my new favourite thing! I love it on the inner corners of the eyes, brow bone, and on the tops of the cheeks. It transforms a makeup look to make you look like a glowing angel like the photo's you see on instagram.
Here my top 4....

Mac- Lightscapade Mineralize Skinfinish
£24.00
It looks like a planet and it is really natural looking. It looks best on your cheek bones and mixes well with blush and contour.
MUA- Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter £3.00
It is quite a pinky colour highlight but I think it really works and it also makes a really lovely eyeshadow.
Samples: Left- Benefit 'Watts Up!' cream highlighter and Right- Benefit 'High Beam' liquid highlight.
Full sizes: £24.50 and £19.50.
Both are really long-lasting and are very pigmented. They make your skin look really healthy and look AMAZING in flash photos.

Swatches in order shown above.

Just take a look at that. They are all so pretty to look at- I could just look at them forever.

My Pets

Hey Everyone,
Just thought I would do something a bit different and share something I love that isn't to do with makeup, clothes or food haha. Its my two pet guinea pigs!
I wanted to share some pictures to all the guinea pig or small animal lovers out there because they have so much personality and they are the cutest! I did do a little photo shoot as they are very photogenic but like any animal they don't stay still forever. Here is a few which I found funny!

They are both girls which are sisters and this year in August will be 2 years old.
The one with the brown nose is Daisy. Daisy has such a funny character face and always makes everyone laugh, she is quite chubby and has little freckle like dots on her cheeks. She is very friendly and loves a good squeak. She makes it clear when shes bored, as shes quite adventurous.

The one with the white nose is Maisie. Maisie is smaller and loves to cuddle, shes always right under my neck (she could for hours) and could fall asleep on you! Shes like my little scarf. She loves hiding under blankets and cuddling right next to Daisy. She is so soft and always remembered for having a very pink nose.

Thank you so much for reading this blogpost hope you enjoyed finding out something a bit more personal about me. I love my pets so much and wanted to post these pictures somewhere!

Stila Spirit Pallete

 The Stila Spirit Pallete

Hey everyone!

Today I wanted to share with you a new discovery of the Stila Spirit eyeshadow pallete. I thought a lot of you at the moment are maybe thinking of something new to buy with your Christmas money or for someone who may have a birthday after Christmas, and you have run out of ideas to get them! Also New Years is coming up, so its nice to make your makeup a bit different and more glamorous for the event!

This pallete I saw when shopping and I hinted that I really loved it so on Christmas morning I was very lucky to have got it! I had never tried any of Stila Cosmetics before and when I saw this in the shop I couldn't stop starring at it- I still can't!
This eyeshadow pallete is £30.00 and has 12 really good size eye shadows inside. Also because of the fact it is a square it is a nice compact object to travel with and it conveniently has a larger mirror too.

The eye shadows include 2 matt shades (eye shadoes with no glitter in); one called 'puppy' (which is the cutest name ever), which blondes could actually use for there eyebrows or just as a good crease colour to warm up the makeup.
Then the other matt shade which is called 'chinois' which could either be use for a highlight on the brow bone or I like to use it all over the eyelid.

All of the other eye shadows are shimmer, some more than others. Most of the colours are warm neutrals and are quite golden or brown. What I like about this pallete is that it also has a few brighter colour shades which aren't just everyday neutrals, but really wearable colours that are a bit more adventurous. This include a coral shade called 'jezebel' , navy grey colour (in the right corner) which would look lovely for a smokey eye, also a grey purple which looks so pretty (middle bottom) and cranberry shade in the top corner which is beautiful for a pinky eye shadow look which looks lovely on green eyes, and something a bit different. If you are a neutral eye shadow wearer but, you want to branch out for different colours that are still easy to wear then this is great for you, and I know I am going to get a lot of use out of it!

It can be great for the day and then changed to an evening out.
Also the packaging is beautiful. It has a mirrored rose gold lid and a magnet to shut securely.
I have to admit this is my new favourite eye shadow pallete!

Blueberry Muffins

You will need:

  1.     110grams plain flower
  2.     110 grams of butter
  3.     65 grams of caster sugar
  4.     2 eggs
  5.     1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
  6.     125 grams of blue berries
  7.     Nutmeg
Normally I would say preheat the oven but in this case don't. Make sure you make the following mixture with time to leave it in the fridge afterwards. Once making the mixture it needs to be left in the fridge for at least an hour or if possible over night( which I don't think is needed). I left the mixture in for 4 hours while going out.

Anyway......
Step 1: To create the mixture:
Firstly start by creaming the butter and sugar together and one by one add both eggs. Keep mixing until smooth.
Then add the flour, baking powder, pinch of nutmeg. Put in the fridge for a least an hour.

Step 2: After coming out of the fridge the mixture needs to be put into the muffin cases half full. My mixture made around 10- but use up all the mixture.
Then add the blueberries (because they are quite important in a BLUEBERRY muffin recipe) each muffin should have around 8.

Step 3: Bake in the oven at 200C for 20 minutes.
They should look golden and would have risen. Each with oozing blueberries on top. If not... You

have done something wrong.

Step4 :THEN ENJOY!
Thank you for reading this blogpost. I am really enjoying the baking sort of blogs so i hope you are too!

THE MOST AMAZING CAKE IN THE WORLD

THE MOST AMAZING CAKE IN THE WORLD

EG. CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE

 Hey Everyone,
Today I have a recipe of my most favourite cake which I think every single person on this Earth should know. I am not an advanced baker myself but give it a go!

For this recipe you will need:
170 grams self raising flour
2 table spoons of cocoa flour
150 grams of caster sugar
2 eggs mixed (or the technical word BEATEN)
1 teaspoon of bicarbonate soda (don't even know what this does to be honest)
150ml of sunflower oil- I used olive oil because I ran out
150ml of semi-skimmed milk
2 table spoons of golden syrup

Icing:
75 grams of butter
175 grams of icing sugar
3 table spoons of cocoa powder
A few drops of milk

Pre- heat oven at 180 degrees.
Sieve the flour into a bowl along with the cocoa powder and bicarbonate soda. Then add the sugar. MIX.

Make a well and place in the syrup, eggs, milk and oil. I always think milk and oil looks horrible together but a cake is a cake- you have to do what you have to do. Use an electric whisk, it should be smooth.

Bake the mixture for half and hour, they should be separated equally into two round baking trays. And leave to cool. As hard as it is to wait try to remain calm.

Basically make the icing while your waiting. It's very easy and I could literally eat it all without it being in the cake. Place the butter at room temperature into a bowl and gracefully sift the icing sugar into a bowl followed by the cocoa powder as if you were in the Great British Bake Off. Add a droplet of milk if needed. Place it in the middle of the cake and if you want on the top.

Now look at the pictures.
Tempting right.
If you are going to do something this weekend let it be this, honestly I can't describe the amazingness.

Thank you for reading this blogpost.
